Alec Van is a 5-year old pianist whose musical gifts surfaced almost as soon as he could walk. He was identified as having perfect pitch by the age of three and a half, and by age four he was already performing works by composers such as Bach and Beethoven. In 2025, he earned first-place in multiple international music competitions, and made his debut at Carnegie Hall, making history as one of the youngest pianists to ever perform on the storied stage. That same year, Alec Van also made his debut at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The music community has embraced his talent, and media from around the world, including World News Tonight, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, ClassicFM, The Today Show and KTLA, have praised his accomplishments, dubbing him a child prodigy and some even calling his Carnegie Hall debut performance a "masterclass in talent."
To commemorate his memorable year as a five-year-old, Alec Van recorded his favorite five pieces of classical music that he has performed throughout the year. What started as an idea of an audio memory book of his development as a musician became a beautiful compilation that he now shares with the world as his debut EP, appropriately titled, 5.
